What am I watching?
An evolutionary ecosystem where hundreds of creatures live, eat, reproduce, and die on a procedurally generated world. Each run produces different outcomes — no two are alike.
How does evolution work here?
Each creature has a genome: speed, size, vision, resilience, diet preference, social tendency, and metabolism. When two similar creatures reproduce, offspring inherit a mix of both parents' traits with small random mutations. Over generations, populations adapt to their environment.
What do the colors mean?
A creature's color is derived entirely from its traits — it's a visual fingerprint of its genome. Similar colors mean similar genetics. Watch for color clusters forming over time — those are emerging species, naturally selected by their environment.
Can I tell traits apart visually?
Yes! High-vision creatures have large bright eyes; low-vision ones have small beady eyes. High-metabolism creatures are vivid and bright; low-metabolism ones are muted. Diet specialists are tall and narrow, while generalists are round and wide. Fast creatures sport tails, social ones have antennae, and resilient ones show spots.
What are the biomes?
The world has five land biomes: Meadow (temperate, lush), Forest (dense, moderate), Desert (hot, dry), Tundra (cold, sparse), and Wetland (humid, rich). Different trait combinations thrive in different biomes — resilient creatures handle cold tundra, large creatures manage wet terrain, and fast creatures need more food.
What are the glowing areas?
When 3+ creatures with similar genetics cluster together, they form a resonance zone. Creatures in resonance use less energy, reproduce more easily, and plants regrow faster nearby — rewarding species that stick together.
What about disease?
When population density gets high, disease outbreaks target the most common genome. This keeps any one species from dominating forever. Creatures with high resilience survive better.
